January 30, 2023 - Phoenix, Arizona - They say it's never too late to pursue a dream. For Tamicia Currie, what began as a dream has quickly become reality. The valley designer remembers vividly how she created her first dress -- a design that she later patented and now plans to release. “I remember having a vision in my mind of how I wanted it to look,” said Currie.
What started as a hobby turned into a more concerted effort to move the design into retail spaces across the world. “I have always had an eye for fashion and pairing colors,” she stated.
Rising from the ashes of uncertainty after losing loved ones during the pandemic, Currie pioneered her way back into the business world and began sourcing fabrics and planning for a larger production. “We often tell people that it's never too late, but the truth is you can reach an expiration date on almost anything,” Currie explained. Having this thought in mind, the serial entrepreneur used her business skills to launch what she envisions being a successful endeavor.
“If you are looking for something sophisticated, classy and totally different, you'll love my Roaring With Ropes Collection. I knew this piece would stand out in a crowd and it's a beautiful thing to see something that you create come to life,” she exclaimed.
Currie plans to release her patent-pending collection on February 7th during Black History Month and will attend several valley Superbowl LVII events wearing the design. “I’m excited to join historic black female designers like Ann Lowe and Ruby Bailey, and present-known designers like Kimora Lee Simmons. It really means a lot to me,” Currie concluded.
